Wataru Kawahara is a Japanese illustrator who contributed to the Pokémon TCG primarily during the Platinum and HeartGold & SoulSilver eras (2009–2011), debuting with the Beat of the Frontier expansion and its accompanying deck kit. Their notable cards include Charizard G LV.X and a range of Trainer cards across sets such as Supreme Victors, Arceus, Unleashed, Undaunted, and Triumphant, showing versatility across both Pokémon and Item illustrations. Beyond the TCG, Kawahara has also worked in 3D character modeling, with credits in Pokémon Sword and Shield and Pokédex 3D.
