Tetsu Kayama (香山哲) is a Japanese illustrator and manga creator who debuted in the Pokémon TCG with the Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames expansion in 2023, contributing Lunatone and Solrock before expanding across the 151, Paradox Rift, and later Scarlet & Violet sets. Their cards are distinguished by a pointillism-inspired dotted shading style—evoking Georges Seurat—combined with simple-line foliage backgrounds and crosshatching for texture, giving familiar Pokémon an unexpectedly contemplative, fine-art feel. Outside Pokémon, Kayama produces manga and multimedia illustration work, and is active online at kayamatetsu.com and on Bluesky (@kayamatetsu.bsky.social).
