kawayoo is the nickname of Yohei Kawaguchi (born 1974), a freelance digital illustrator who has worked on the Pokémon TCG since the Rising Rivals expansion. He builds each image from scratch with hundreds of digital-tablet strokes, producing heavy, multi-layered, oil-painting-like results that emphasize muscle, expression, and contrast, often with cyberpunk or anime-influenced themes. He is one of the most distinctive renderers in the modern game.
