"Big Mama" Tagawa

Pokémon card illustrator

"Big Mama" Tagawa, real name Yoshiyuki Tagawa (田川喜之), is a graphic designer at Creatures, Inc. who illustrated Pokemon TCG cards from the original era through the early 2000s (roughly Base Set through Aquapolis). Almost all of their TCG work is computer-generated graphics for Trainer cards rather than Pokemon artwork, including the technical-machine cards for the Pokemon VS Gym Leader set and various Stadium and Item cards; they illustrated about 46 cards under this credit. At Creatures they also worked on 3D models and game development for titles such as Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, and Hey You, Pikachu!
