Pokémon card illustrator

Satoma (さとま) is a Tokyo-based Japanese illustrator and animator who graduated from the Department of Design at Tokyo University of the Arts and serves as a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of the Arts. They entered the Pokémon TCG after placing as a quarterfinalist in the 2022 Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest and were subsequently commissioned by The Pokémon Company, with their first official card being Dratini in Obsidian Flames; since then they have illustrated approximately 35 cards across the Scarlet & Violet era, including notable Illustration Rare cards such as Cresselia (Shrouded Fable) and Eevee (Twilight Masquerade). Their style is characterized by soft, atmospheric, and dreamlike digital paintings with delicate lighting and serene natural settings, reflecting a fine-arts background that also spans book jackets, CD covers, and animation work including backgrounds for Square Enix's NieR Re[in]carnation.
