Pokémon card illustrator
Jiro Sasumo (さすも次郎) is a Japanese office worker and part-time illustrator who won the Grand Prize at the second Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix, which launched their professional TCG career beginning with the Sword & Shield era's Brilliant Stars set. Working in Photoshop with a pen tablet, Sasumo has illustrated cards across numerous expansions through the Scarlet & Violet era — including Lost Abyss, VMAX Climax, Raging Surf, and Battle Partners — with a painterly style focused on evoking the atmosphere and narrative of a scene. Their first published card was a Charizard S-P promo drawn from their contest-winning submission, reflecting their deep affection for Generation II Pokémon.
