akagi (Japanese: あかぎ うんど, also romanized Akagi Undo) is a Japanese freelance illustrator who debuted in the Pokémon TCG during the Scarlet & Violet era, with their first card being a Palafin Illustration Rare in the Shiny Treasure ex set (late 2023 JP). Known for bold colors, heavy shadows, jewel tones, and dynamically posed subjects that often carry an ominous or morally ambiguous energy, akagi has quickly become a collector favorite, with standout Special Illustration Rare cards including Greninja ex (Twilight Masquerade) and Kingdra ex (Shrouded Fable). In addition to Pokémon, they illustrate for Duel Masters, the ONE PIECE Card Game, and TEPPEN, and are active on Twitter/X as @akagiund.
